In a world first, fishing elite will be brought together to showcase their skills, creativity and passion for our waterways in the BCF Topwater Film Invitational.
SCF Australia presents BCF Topwater Film Invitational, premiering Saturday 5th November 2022. The BCF Topwater Film Invitational (TFI) is a contest for creators to fish, film and inspire the public to vote and advocate for our waterways. Hosted by SCF Australia, an industry leader in fishing, events and media, TFI will promote the same ethos of Sustainable Fishing, Clean Waterways and Future Generations. TFI’s Goal is to raise awareness and much needed funds for environmental issues.
Ten teams of influential anglers will travel to The Great Barrier Reef showcasing the seventh natural wonder of the world in all its beauty. As the largest living organism in the world, the reef is home to over 1,500 species of tropical fish. Teams will use this platform to showcase not only the incredible recreational fishing opportunities, phenomenal wildlife, cultural experiences, and scenery, but also, to show audiences why this incredible natural wonder of the world is worth protecting.
This year the 10 teams chosen to participate in the BCF Topwater Film Invitational Australia 2022 are Andy’s Fishing, Back 2 Basics Adventures, CAST, Coastal Chaos, Jonny & Matty, Reef Addicts, Reel Destinations, RoKKit Kit, The Explore Life and The Mad Hueys. Each submit a 20-minute official film to compete for a share in $137,500 AUD. These 10 films will then be taken to a public vote to decide the People’s Choice Winner of The BCF Topwater Film Invitational Australia 2022.

The BCF Topwater Film Invitational will be promoted worldwide and will raise crucial funds and awareness for The Great Barrier Reef and our waterways. A percentage of all profits donated to environmental charity partners; OzFish Australia, Sharks and Rays Australia (SARA) and Great Barrier Reef Foundation.
VIP Gold Class Charity Premiere Screenings will be held at Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Gold Coast Event Cinemas with all proceeds donated to OzFish Australia projects.
OzFish Unlimited CEO and Founder, Craig Copeland said “OzFish Unlimited is a not-for-profit charity that is well established nationwide. We facilitate recreational fishers taking action for river, lake, estuarine and ocean health, primarily through habitat restoration.
Our team are excited to be involved in the BCF Topwater Film Invitational and look forward to utilizing the funds raised to support our Nerang River Fish Friendly Marine Infrastructure project. The installation of fish-friendly marine infrastructure will help secure the revetment walls while providing complex habitat and food for marine invertebrates and fish.”

● VIP Gold Class Charity Screenings will be held at Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Gold Coast Event Cinemas. Premier screenings will take place 6 hours earlier than general public viewing on November 5th 11:30 am – 5:30 pm
● BCF Topwater Film Invitational teams will be in attendance at screenings along with other high profile industry and media personalities.
● Limited tickets will be available to purchase via the topwaterfilminvitational.com website for the public
● Tickets include 2 hour drinks package on arrival, 2 course meal, 6 hour Gold Class experience with private bar and a chance to mingle with the teams and VIP Guests.
